 | More than 100 staff are employed within CVR. A full list of CVR staff along with their contact and position details is given in the Contacts page. Staff lists can also be found within each of the individual Research Groups or by clicking on the portraits of the group leaders shown below. Total staff numbers have grown from 12 in 1994 to 108 in 2003. Present staff include 22 PhD students, 31 Research Assistants and Technicians and 5 support staff. The remainder are mostly Post-doctoral Scientists, Fellows and Clinical Staff Specialists. Approximately 15 Fellowships are currently held within CVR and these are derived from funding agencies including National Health and Medical Research Council of Australia, National Heart Foundation of Australia, Australian Research Council and the Viertel Charitable Foundation.
The largest concentration of CVR staff is presently at the UNSW Faculty of Medicine Wallace Wurth Building where approximately 50% of the total staff are located. Large research groups are also located at JCSMR and Monash University. Active collaboration and common funding exists between the CVR sites. In addition to the staff mentioned above, the CVR has a Management Committee responsible for ensuring the Centre objectives are attained, and a Scientific Advisory Committee, which assists and guides the Director and Management Committee in all matters of research direction.
